The present collection represents Persian legends and their heroic and historical significances to the adolescent audiences. Keyumars, Rostam, Esfandiyar, Siavash and other heroic figures from Shahnameh and books of epic are studied and analyzed in the present collection. Being historical or purely imaginative, these figures are incumbent with a rich historical sense of nationalisms and heroism and therefore, have been utilized allegorically and allusively in various artistic instances. Inscribed in a simple language, the collection utilizes dramatic and comic illustrations so that the adolescent audiences can become genuinely involved with the episodes. The following lines represent a short excerpt of the book: “Riding the horse eventually, Rostam succeeded taming the dragon nature of Rakhsh. Gazing with utter amazement, the shepherd did not accept the money Rostam offered for the horse. “The real price of this horse”, the shepherd said: “will be your sacrifices and heroic endeavors in saving Persia and its great nation.”
