Surena was the name of a nightingale. Except of one of its orange feather, all of her feathers were green. Sitting on the highest branch of the cedar tree and watching various resplendencies of spring, she was always in direct correspondence with the cedar tree. Once the tree told her: “Hearing your voice, I am reminded of the one hundred and one years old rose who has been enchanted for a long time and is unable to bear any new buds. The rose is entrapped in the garden of the forking paths.” Hearing this anecdote, the nightingale decided to go to the rose and sang to her. Enduring lots of difficulties on her path to the rose and meeting characters such as the yellow pomegranate tree, the flower picking grandma, the crow and the two-headed dragon, she reached the flower and broke the spell. The present book is considered to be a successful instance of the Iranian Children’s Literature. In the epilogue of the book, the English translation of the book, alongside with a brief introduction of the author are enclosed.
