Iran and Kyrgyzstan Agreed to Translate their Epics:

"Manas" to Persian and "Shahnameh" to Kyrgyz

Alhoda International Institute and Kyrgyzstan Language Commission agreed to translate and publish "Manas" from Kyrgyz in to Persian and Ferdowsi's Shahnameh from Persian into Kyrgyz. After returning from his trip to Kyrgyzstan and visiting Alhoda's representation office in this country, Hamid Reza Shahabadi, Alhoda's Managing Director, announced about the agreement he made with Kyrgyzstan's National Language Commission on translating and publishing two epic treasure of Iran and Kyrgyzstan.

Shahabdi has negotiated with the vice chairman of Kyrgyzstan's National Language Commission, which has been founded with the aim of promoting and improving Kyrgyz language and translating Kyrgyz works into foreign languages and vice versa and serves under direct supervision of Kyrgyzstan's president, about common activities and interests. Accordingly, it was agreed that Alhoda and Kyrgyzstan's National Language Commission start to translate some excerpts of "Manas Epic", which deals with courage of Manas and serves as the source of many Kyrgyz works, is translated into Persian and some excepts of "Ferdowsi's Shahnameh, which is among the exquisite Persian language" ins translated into Kyrgyz language. Also it was agreed that Alhoda publishes both and unveil them in a commemoration ceremony. According to the predetermined schedule, a full year was considered for this project.

Shahabadi added, "Manas Epic and Ferdowsi's Shahnameh, both point to mythical history and had been finalized in fifth AH century."Manas" narrates the story of Manas, the national hero of Kyrgyz people, the counterpart of Rostam for Iranians. "Manas" is the longest epic of the world, which is compared with the Indian's Mahabharata and Chinese main epic. "Manas" has been inherited through word of mouth and finally it was collected as a book in 1995 and then was published in Kyrgyz language. In this literary treasure of Kyrgyz nation, stories about wars of eight generations of Manas family, who fought with the aim of unifying scattered ethics and other nations as well as resisting aggressions of foreigners, are described.

The epic of "Manas" has been developed with 10-13 centuries; it has been compiled in 18 volumes and more than 2400000 words. It has not only epical poems, but is an encyclopedia for historical, geographical, religious, economic, social and lingual studies. Ferdowsi's Shahnameh and Manas epic reflect epics and courage of Iranians and Kyrgyz people against the aggression of foreigners."
