Farhad Hassanzadeh

Farhad Hassanzadeh was born in Abadan City on April 9, 1962. He started to write short stories since his teen years (1976).

In parallel with working for children and young adults magazines (e.g. Soroush-e Nojavan, Soroush-e Koodak, Aftabgardan, Keyhan Bacheha, etc.), he professionally entered the children and you adult literature area in 1989. Eventually, he published his first book, Adventures of Fox and Bee, in 1991.

He has published more than 60 books (mostly for children and young adults) so far. His works cover most genres including long stories, short stories, novels, myths, fantasy, satire, and biographies. He has several books for adults, as well including Backyard, The Guest of Moonlight. He also has books that have not been published yet. Hassanzadeh is active in writing scripts too and has gained experiences in the field of animation. He is one of founders of Children and Young Adults Writers Association and has served there as the member of board of directors for two courses. Now, Hassanzadeh is working in the editorial desk of “Docharkheh” Magazine. He has published 72 books which have brought about many awards for him so far. Of his selected books can point to Beside the Seventh Bench Lake (Ofogh Publishing Co.) and Piti Ko Piti Ko (Institute for the Intellectual Development of children and Young Adults). He has two works in Nowruz Literary Agency collection, Tales of the Tree Who was Sleepy (Peidayesh Publishing Co.) and The Vampire’s Diaries (Charkhofalak Publishing Co.). He is one of the most popular writers of Iranian children and young adults.
