Selected Works of Makhtum Qoli Faraqi translated and interpreted by Gonbad Dordi Azami Rad, special for Turkmens, starts with an introduction, written by Abozar Ebrahimi Torkaman, Head of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization.

As a work special for Turkmen, this book has several chapters including prelude, a word of an endless story, glossary and explanation of Gnostic terms, references and poems of Makhtum Qoli in Turkmen with Persian translation. Makhtum Qoli is the greatest Turkmen poet who has used his poem and words to improve ethical, Gnostic and social thoughts. Poems of Makhtum Qoli are featured by rationalism; so he can be compared with Rudaki, Ferdowsi, Naser Khosrow, who were among the rationalist and great poets of Iran. For Makhtum Qoli, poem is ride and poet is its rider. A rider without thinking could not go anywhere, so what is important is thought. The normal dependencies of our life cannot touch and influence Makhtum Qoli’s poems; seeking for perfection and truth is the only tenet ha had tried to find. His works are full of wisdom, ethics and Gnostic.

The great stance of this Turkmen poet has encouraged the great western scholars such as Evgeny Edvardovich Berthels, Alexander Chodzko, A. N. Samoilovich, Nikolai Tikhonov and Arminius Vámbéry to comment about his works.

It is worthy to say that, after victory of Islamic Revolution in Iran, holding several seminars about Makhtum Qoli has been welcomed by researchers, especially Turkmen ones, and student seminars are held every year in their universities.

Selected Works of Makhtum Qoli Faraqi was published for the first time in 528 pages by Alhoda Publishing Group.
