Javad Hadidi

Javad Hadidi, Nov. 26, 1932, was an Iranian researcher and translator, professor of Mashhad’s Ferdowsi University and permanent member of Academy of Persian Language and Literature. After completing his seminary studies in Qom City in 1951, he started to study French language in University of Tehran. At the same time he continued his studied at Tehran’s Supreme Academy and finally was graduated in two majors, Persian Literature and tutorship. Immediately after being graduated he started to serve as teacher in Mashhad high schools; however it was not so long that he decided to continue his studied in Switzerland. In the same direction, he succeeded to gain his undergraduate degree in French Literature from Geneva University in 1957. He pursued his doctorate in French Literature at the France Sorbonne University. His most known works are Voltaire’s views about Islam (translation), Iran in French Literature, Collision of Thoughts, From Saadi to Aragones, Walkers of truth path, a glance at mirror, etc. Of his most important achievements can refer to award of the best research on Humanities for Khayam in Mashhad Literature in 1973, Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance book of year award for translation of Hadith Eshgh dar Shargh in 1994, Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance book of year award for From Saadi to Aragones in 1995 and title of Chevalier in Cultural achievements from French’s Ministry of Culture in 2005. Literary award of French speaking authors association for Voltaire et Islam in 1976.
