Shokuh Qasemnia

Shokuh Qasemnia was born June 22, 1945 in Mokhtari Neighborhood in Tehran to a middle class family. She finished her preliminary school in Tehran. Before Cultural Revolution in Tehran and the shutdown of universities, she succeeded to be graduated from Politics at the National University. Qasemnia started her literary activities for children and young adults since 1980 through publishing her works in Kayhan Magazine. As she says, publishing Golak magazine in 1990 motivated her to focus her works on composing poems for little children. Her first collection of poems, Moon and Fish, was published by Qadayani Publishing Co.

She has published more than 150 books on children and young adults’ literature. She used to write for little children age range. She can be categorized as a poet and author who works are welcomed by both children and their parents. He works have always been praised by winning the most important literary wards of children and young adults literature. Some of her achievements are summarized here:

  • Appreciation award from the 14th Institute for the Intellectual Development of children and Young Adults’ Children and Young Adults Book Festival in 2010;
  • Her work in association with Bnafsheh Rasoulian Brojeni’s NiNi Collection and Maryam Hashempur’s Gonjesh Par, Jorab Par won the award of best work from the 4th Parvin Etesami Literary Award in 2010;
  • The award of IRI’s Year’s Book for children stories section in 2002;
  • Honorary diploma from the 11th Institute for the Intellectual Development of children and Young Adults’ Children and Young Adults Book Festival in 2005;
  • Golden Plaque and honorary diploma from the 7th Institute for the Intellectual Development of children and Young Adults’ Children and Young Adults Book Festival in 1997;
  • Her works were selected as the best by Astan Quds Razavi ……
