Kuwaiti Writers are Enthusiastic about Building Relation with Iranian Scholars
In a meeting with Alhoda International Publishing Group’s envoy on the sidelines of the 39th Kuwait Book Fair, Talal Saad Al-Rumaidi, the Secretary General of Kuwait's Writers Association (KWA), pointed to the Kuwaiti writers’ enthusiasm to build a closer relationship with Iranian writers and poets.
Hamid Dehdashti, Production and Publication Deputy and envoy of Alhoda in 39th Kuwait Book Fair, stated, “In a meeting I had with Talal Saad Al-Rumaidi, the Secretary General of Kuwait's Writers Association (KWA), introducing the Nowruz Literary Agency was followed by potential capacities of Alhoda International Publishing Group to start cooperation with the KWA”, Public Relations Department of Alhoda reported.
“Mr. Al-Rumaidi also made me acquainted with the members of KWA and explained about the unutterable interest of Kuwaitis in the contemporary literature of the Islamic Iran,” he added. This Kuwaiti author spoke about building closer ties between Iranian and Kuwaiti literary agencies as well as the interaction between the two nations and said, “Despite enthusiasm of Kuwaiti scholars and writers about this interaction, it has not been met yet.”
Kuwait's Writers Association (KWA) was founded in 1964 by well-known cultural characters such as Al-Sayed Hashim Al-Refai, Abdol-Hussuain Rashid and Yacoub Al-Ghanim. Most of famous Kuwaiti writers are members of KWA. Every Thursdays the members gather in this association. Since its establishment, KWA built good relations with authors and scholars of other Arab states.
KWA is referred to as one of the oldest associations in Kuwait whose effective activities to promote freedom of expression and preserving Kuwaiti authors and writers’ rights have been very important.
Publishing literary and artistic journals as well as publishing Al-Bayan Magazine since 1966 are other activities of KWA.
Production and Publication Deputy of Alhoda has also emphasized a new movement in Arab States of the Persian Gulf to translate the world’s literary works into Arabic very seriously.
