History and Purpose of Establishing Alhoda

Alhoda International, Cultural, Artistic and  Publishing Institution was established in 1363 as an international publisher to expand international cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and other nations within the field of books and other cultural items and expand its activity in numerous parts of the world. At first, this institution had 5 official representative offices in Afghanistan (Kabul), Kyrgyzstan (Bishkek), Turkmenistan (Ashgabat), Iraq (Najaf) and Tajikistan (Dushanbe), but currently, only the offices of Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan are active and their headquarters are in Tehran.

The main activities of Alhoda International Institution are as follows:

- Translation, compilation and publication of the works of religious, scientific and cultural thinkers, scholars and characters.

- Distribution of written works and other cultural products through agencies, branches and cultural agencies of the Islamic Republic of Iran abroad (consultations).

- Cooperation with foreign publishers through Nowruz Literary Agency with the participation and membership of 19 Iranian publishers in the group of publishers and creation of copyright exchanges between these publishers and foreign publishers.

- Granting distribution and sales agencies to publishers, cultural institutions, and real and legal persons.

- Participate in professional and international book exhibitions around the world.

- Providing publishing services to domestic and foreign authors, translators and publishers.

- Accepting international orders for providing books and cultural items.

 - Organizing the meetings of the Culture of Nations in cooperation with the Iranian Artists Forum.

Alhoda International Institution has participated in most of the international book fairs as a representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Since 2005, this institution has directly participated in most international book fairs in countries such as Russia, China, Lebanon, India, Brunei, Germany, Croatia, Sweden, Belarus, Spain, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Ethiopia, Libya, Bolivia, Bogota, Turkey, etc. It has also participated in many international exhibitions in an indirect and participatory manner such as Bulgaria, Syria, Sweden, China, Tanzania, India (Mumbai and Delhi), Frankfurt, Croatia, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Bosnia, Georgia, Belarus, Thailand, etc.

It is worth noticing that the works of Alhoda International Institution or other publishers, which are entrusted to this institute participate in international exhibitions, with topics related to history, art, Persian language education, philosophy, literature, and the thoughts of Imam Khomeini and the Supreme Leader are presented in international exhibitions according to the language of the respective region.
