Irakli Samsonadze

Born 1961.In 1983 he graduated from the Journalism Department of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi University. His first play At Midnight was published in the magazine Khelovneba in 1985. In 1992-96 he was the assistant editor of the almanac Dramaturgi, then its editor in 1996-98.

 His works include: Triptych (plays, 2000); The Suburb (short stories, 2003); The Comfort Pillow (short novel, 2004); Turkey’s Egg (2010); Leah’s Clock (novel, Intelekti, 2011); The Cloud Called Darinda (novel, Intelekti, 2012); A Frightened Street (short stories, Intelekti, 2012); The Comfort Pillow (second edition, Intelekti, 2012).

Fifteen of his plays have been staged in the theatres across Georgia.

 Irakli Samsonadze has received various awards for his prose and drama.
